Getting Here + Parking Tips (Locals’ Version)
If you’re driving, the best move is to park once near Booth Street and do the rest on foot.
Nelson St: usually plenty of 2P parking
Booth St: possible, but hit-and-miss
Insider tip: Wells St (off Booth St) has no meter, but locals know it — so spots disappear fast
Doing this on a weekend? Arrive before 9:30am if you want the easiest park.
The 8 Stops (In Order)
Precinct 37 sits on the corner of Booth and Nelson, and it has the rare vibe where the owner knows people by name. If you love people-watching, sit outside along Booth St — it’s the best “amongst it all” start to the day.
Local order: coffee + bacon & egg if you want to keep moving… or settle in and soak up the street energy.
Right next door, Annandale Bakehouse has new owners and fresh pastry daily. Grab one now — and if you’re smart, grab an extra for later.
3) Annandale Street wander + Wisdom St detour — the “I could live here” walk
From Booth St, take a leisurely walk down to Annandale Street. It’s wide, well-kept, and the houses are the reason to do this section.
If you’re a casual wanderer: turn left into Wisdom St and head toward the green corridor / garden area for a quiet reset moment. If you brought extra pastry, this is the stop to sit and start plotting your next move to Annandale.

Back on Booth Street, Market Studio is a tiny pottery studio/shop that’s dangerously good at making you buy “just one small thing.”
This is where you choose your own adventure. Booth Street has plenty of options depending on your mood.
Or, if you want the full-circle day: go back to Precinct 37 for lunch.
Right before/near the busy food strip is Terrific Scientific — a locals-only gem with science and educational toys that kids (and curious adults) flock to.
This is the “trinkets and gifts” shop that feels like something you’d find in a small country town. Perfect quick browse on your way further down Booth
If you’re into vintage or interiors, Merchants is non-negotiable. Locals don’t need to drive hours for good finds anymore — you can easily lose a couple of hours here.
Finish at the Victoria Hotel on Young St. It’s casual, local, and the kind of place where you can sit outside and talk the night away.
Short on time? Do the 3-hour version
If you only do six stops: 1 → 2 → 3 → 4 → Lunch → 8.
That’s coffee, pastry, best streets, one perfect shop, lunch, pub finish.
