This loop is built for one thing: showing you what Annandale really feels like.

Think heritage streets that read like a little London village, proper local coffee spots, a ceramics stop that somehow has you looking up pottery classes… and a pub finish because that’s where locals actually land.

This is where real locals go. The secret is to arrive before 10am, grab an outside table, and watch the place quietly fill up.
Everything on the menu is a safe bet — pick whatever you feel like and you can tell it’s made with care.

Cherry Moon feels like a community hall: people swing by for a coffee, a loaf of bread, jam, a slice of cake, or that low-key ritual lunch you’ve been craving all week.

Stop 2 — Collins St heritage houses (incl. Woodland House (3 Collins St))

Along Collins Street you’ll spot three or four homes with the coveted National Trust “Classified” marker — usually on a gate pillar or near the entry. The houses are grand, and some have been beautifully restored back to their original condition.

Woodland House at 3 Collins St is a special one. It hasn’t been “done up” — it’s just quietly weathered the passing of time, and somehow the grandeur is still there. I love standing there and imagining what it must’ve been like back then.

Stop 3 — Johnston St heritage stretch (spot The Abbey)

Johnston Street is basically heritage home after heritage home — one after the other — and it’s all so grand in scale. You could easily spend an hour or two just stopping to read the heritage markers.

I love reading the names and dates — some go back to c.1880, which is honestly wild when you’re standing right there on a normal suburban street.

Don’t forget to stop at Annandale Post Office (corner of Booth St and Johnston St), this is by far one of the prettiest post office in the Inner West and has been featured in may ads.

Revolver is an institution on Annandale Street. It’s the kind of place that quietly serves the locals who live around this end of the suburb — reliable, calm, and never trying too hard.

It’s perfect for a mid-walk reset: you can sit, take your time, and actually enjoy your coffee in peace. It’s away from the Booth Street buzz, but somehow everyone in Annandale still knows it.

What I love about Market Studio is the community feel. It’s my go-to for topping up my coffee mug collection, and every so often they’ll run a market and bring in other local artists — which adds this lovely, buzzy little atmosphere to Annandale.

This place is big, but it still feels cosy. It’s a great hangout because it sits right in the middle of everything — the kind of pub you can always default to.

It stays open late and has a genuinely good feel about it — easy, local, and unfussy.

Snacky Chan is a bit off the beaten track — you’d honestly never find it unless someone told you, because it’s tucked on the Parramatta Road side.

It’s such a fun place to try different things. They love their specials and cocktails, and it’s absolutely worth the detour if you want to turn this loop into a full day.
