White Rabbit has taken over one of Marrickville’s most-loved corners and turned it into a bright, all-day café and bakery.
It’s the fourth outpost for the family-owned group, but the Marrickville spot feels firmly plugged into the local scene – a place where neighbours roll in for eggs, coffee and something sweet to take home.
The kitchen leans hard into café classics done properly. Breakfast runs from eggs on Sonoma sourdough with Pepe Saya butter, to XO chilli scramble, corn and zucchini fritters stacked with avocado salsa and halloumi, big brekkies and sweet plates like ricotta pancakes and granola bowls. Vegans and gluten-free eaters are looked after with plenty of swaps and non-eggy options.
By lunch, the menu shifts into salads, bowls and bigger plates – think tuna ceviche bowls, crackling pork or chicken salads, burgers, pastas and a parmesan-and-herb crumbed chicken sandwich that regulars rave about.
The bakery counter is another drawcard. White Rabbit pours Little Marionette coffee alongside artisanal bread from Sonoma and pastries from Goose Bakery, plus its own cookies and sweets, all available to eat in or grab on the way past. With indoor seats and a sunny corner outlook, it’s an easy stop-in for anyone floating between Marrickville, St Peters, Enmore and Newtown.
